PRESS on the "Shift" key as you click on the Download button.to download the IRIS System (File size - 4 MB). 
This is the order screen. Notice that when the phone number 222-2222 is entered the customer, Jack Sample, shows up in the view box to the right of your screen. If he is calling from account it will be displayed below the name. This customer spends $53 on average and there is also a note from his profile stating that he is a VIP and comes in every week. Notice that you can see when he began using you and the total amount that he has spent with you. Below that it shows that his last order went to Tina Thimmons. 

To take Jack's order you would press enter until you get to the delivery button options. Next you would choose the delivery day and the program would automatically enter the date for you. Next you would choose the time frame for delivery. 

Notice that Tina Thimmons name and information is already available in the "to" section. If Jack is sending to her again you could breeze through this area. Otherwise begin typing and over ride the information. Entering a zip code automatically pulls up the delivery area and price. Below is a note area for special instruction about the delivery such as "leave with a manager if not in." 
Next comes the order description. You can find the items that you sell in the pull down menu. (These are entered into the initialization file when you set up your system.) You can have a price automatically pop up on popular items if you like. If the customer used a coupon you could enter the amount or percent in the discount area below the delivery charge. 

The next area is for the enclosure card message. You can use the arrow keys or mouse to pull down these message headings. After that comes the payment area. This customer normally charges on their account. If they want to charge it on the account you could just press enter through that area. 

If you want to look up a customer's past order you would choose 
"look-Up" from the top of the screen and choose "Customer Orders." You would instantly see the red field and using your arrow up and down keys to select the past order that you would like to view. 

If you want to look at orders that were taken on a particular day you could again choose "Look-Up" from the top and this time choose "Orders by Date." By entering the date you would be able to view the orders taken on any day. (This is helpful in case someone lost an order that was taken that day) 

Another search feature allows you to search for a customer by name or account name. Once the name is entered the program would pull up the customer profile and phone number. (This is helpful when someone from a large company calls in an order and has several phone numbers) 

The IRIS System also prints out labels for mailers, your wire in sheets so that you can mail or fax them in for payment, and it also prints out marketing analysis reports. These print options are not available on the demo program that can be downloaded for free. 

OK now you are wondering how hard this is to set up on your own computer and enter your own store and employee information. You would go to "File" and choose "Initialize Database". Here you would enter your categories and fees. When you get to the Item area you may want to choose a price to go with the item automatically. You can also have the zip code pull up the proper city and delivery fee. This feature saves you time in looking up addresses to see if they are within your delivery area. 

 
 

You can also put a note next to the city like 06 telling your sales people that there is a $60 minimum for that zip code.

Demo Installation and Downloading: 

PRESS on the "Shift" key as you click on the Download button  Press to download the IRIS System Demo (File size - 4 MB). First go to your "c" drive and create a file named "iris". (In windows95 you can do this by clicking on the "c" drive and choosing file-new-folder, then name it "iris") Press above to download. When prompted for a location choose "iris" from your "c" drive. Once the download is finished go to the "iris" file and double click on iris.exe. Follow the instructions onscreen to complete the setup.
